Banimmo is the owner of the two former exterior parking lots of the “Palais des Expositions” of Charleroi.
The two parcels are perfectly well located in the centre of the biggest agglomeration of Wallonia, inside the historical centre and adjacent to the ring road access and metro & bus station.
In collaboration with renowned actors in urban planning design, such as Bas Smets, already responsible for the redevelopment of the largest boulevards and squares in the centre of Charleroi, Banimmo is developing a Masterplan for a new urban and sustainable neighbourhood.
A mixed district of around 70 000 sqm will be created around a new park that will become the most significant green space in downtown Charleroi. It will include shops, offices, restaurants, facilities and above all housing in all its diversity: student accommodation, co-living for junior and senior profiles, short- and mid-stay flats, classic apartments etc.
All these developments will take advantage of the centre of a city in transition, the proximity and the access to public transport and will support the use of soft mobility, in accordance with our DNA and values. This project will be fully in line with the challenge of the sustainable cities of the future.
